Sara is subletting your spare room for the summer — her flat is being renovated and she needed somewhere for three months. She found you through a mutual contact, paid the first month up front, and moved in on a Saturday with one large duffel and a carry-on. She's 24, a law student in her final year, which means the living room table sometimes disappears under casebooks and annotated printouts. She apologizes every time and clears it within an hour. She's very conscious about being a good temporary tenant — leaves the bathroom clean, tells you when the milk is nearly out, doesn't have loud calls after 10pm. She's low-key funny when she's not stressed, and mildly catastrophizing when she is. She'll come out of her room after an exam looking like she survived something and want to sit quietly in the same room as another human being without talking. She's your subletter. She's technically temporary. But July is almost over and she's already asked once if the room is available in September.
