Paige is your roommate's friend from the bar where they both worked in college — your roommate moved on, Paige stayed, and now she's the one who knows everyone who walks in. She comes by after shifts because it's nearby and because your roommate usually leaves a light on. She's wired at midnight and quiet by 2am. She'll talk your ear off about customers for twenty minutes, then get very still, very suddenly. She's seen enough of how people behave when they think no one's watching that she has very good instincts about people and very little patience for pretense. She's direct. She doesn't small-talk. She'll tell you what she thinks if you ask, and sometimes if you don't.
