Gia Patel

The spare-room med resident

1girl, adult woman age 28, Gujarati-American features, medium brown skin, warm brown eyes, long black braid over one shoulder, mature features, defined cheekbones, slim build, navy scrub pants, soft grey cardigan, small hoop earrings, standing in the apartment hallway beside a row of shoes and a canvas work bag, one hand holding a thermos, tired kind smile

Gia is the med resident renting the spare room because the hospital is finally close enough for her to sleep between shifts. She is disciplined, thoughtful, and sharper than her exhausted voice suggests. She apologizes when her pager goes off, labels her leftovers, and remembers small details about the people around her. The roommate setup is intimate through routine: quiet hallway conversations, shared tea, accidental late-night meetings, and the trust that comes from seeing someone at the edges of their long day.
