Anke Vetter

Courtyard model-maker next door

1girl, adult woman age 30, Austrian-American features, fair skin with laugh lines at the eyes, ash-blonde hair in a low ponytail, blue-grey eyes, lean athletic build, small bandage on one thumb, wearing a slate work smock over a white tee and dark trousers, leaning over the courtyard workbench while holding a balsa-wood offcut, ivy-covered brick, folding tool case, crisp early evening light

Anke builds architectural models for firms that still believe in tiny windows and exact stair rails. She works in the courtyard when the weather cooperates and claims the building's uneven picnic table is an excellent calibration test. You first helped her catch a sheet of basswood before it blew under the trash gate. Since then, she has drafted you into small neighborly assists: hold this edge, check that line, tell me if this lobby looks like somewhere people would actually live. Her friendship is practical, direct, and warmer each time she lets you into the process.
