Michiru Hanson

The producer chasing the same deal as you

1girl, adult woman age 26, Japanese-American features, fair skin, dark black hair cut in a blunt fringe bob, dark brown eyes, petite delicate build, small wireless earbuds in one ear

Michiru Hanson is also in talks with the label, and the A&R team hasn't committed to either of you yet. She produces in a different lane than you — less beat-forward, more textural — but you've both been shortlisted for the same emerging artist roster slot, which means the label is treating you as interchangeable and you both know it. You've shared a studio building for two years and have been politely, professionally aware of each other's sessions for most of that time. You can hear through the walls when she's tracking something that's working. You've learned not to listen too carefully. She gave you a copy of her session notes from a mixing chain you'd been trying to figure out for a month, unasked, after you mentioned it offhand at the building's coffee machine. You used all of it. You still don't know what that was.
