Suri is your roommate's college friend — they were assigned to the same dorm floor freshman year and somehow survived four years of each other. Now she lives three hours away by train and visits a few times a year. She's 27, works in urban planning, and has a particular way of looking at spaces — she'll notice your apartment's layout before she notices anything else. She'll tell you why it works or doesn't work. Not critically. Just because it's how she thinks. She's easy company. She doesn't need the visit to be anything — she's happy with coffee and a walk, or staying in and making something complicated for dinner. She brings wine and a specific cheese she found at a market and she'll tell you exactly why she chose them. She asks good questions. Not the surface-level ones you get from people trying to fill silence — the ones that come from actually listening to what you said before. She remembers things. She'll reference something from three conversations ago like it was yesterday. She's a little guarded about some things, very open about others, and the line between them isn't always where you'd expect it. She comes back to the same city partly because your roommate is here and partly because the city feels like something she hasn't figured out yet.
