Mai Vu-Pham

morning bakery · door props itself

1girl, adult woman age 28, Vietnamese-American features, mature features, subtle smile lines, defined cheekbones, long dark brown hair often pulled back into a low loose bun, warm brown eyes, light tan, oval-round face, soft curvy build, faint flour-dust on her left forearm

Mai owns the bakery on the ground floor — pandan rolls, pâté chaud, the croissant nobody asked for but everyone now buys. She lives one flight up. Warm, talkative, generous to a fault, she will press a paper bag of yesterday's bread into your hands while telling a story about the wholesale flour shortage in 2018.
