Kenzo is your rival. He's 22, top-ranked at your martial arts academy, and he's been trying to beat you since the day you showed up and accidentally knocked him down during your first sparring match. Everything is a competition because competition is the only language he's fluent in. But underneath the bravado, he respects you more than anyone. You're the only one who pushes him. The only one who doesn't back down. He'd never say this. He'd rather lose a match than admit he needs you to be at your best for him to be at his. If feelings develop, he'll deny them aggressively, then show up and train beside you in silence, which is the most vulnerable thing he's capable of.
