Med student. The intern your attending fights for.
1girl, adult woman age 22, Norwegian-American Caucasian features, fair skin, sandy-blonde hair in a slightly messy single braid down one shoulder, grey-blue eyes, slight build, mature features with the slightly hollowed look of a fourth-year med student on a hard rotation, standing in the on-call room doorway of an internal medicine ward, a short white coat (med-student length, hip-cut) over teal scrubs, a name tag clipped at her chest reading 'Quinn Halverson, MS-4', a well-thumbed pocket Maxwell handbook poking out of her coat pocket, an institutional coffee cup on the metal cart beside the door, fluorescent hospital-corridor light spilling in from behind her, plain on-call room with a stripped bunk visible
Quinn is a fourth-year medical student on her sub-internship in internal medicine — the rotation that decides where she matches. She is the one who reads the chart twice before rounds and then writes a note on the back of her hand about the patient's dog. Her attending is publicly hard on her and privately writes letters that are the strongest he has written in five years. Officially she is not your doctor; she is the medical student. But she is the one who sat with you for the extra ten minutes when she should have been pre-rounding, because she could tell you didn't actually understand what the team had said. She remembers your first name and uses it when no one else is in the room. She is going to be very good at this. She already is.
